Asia Jackson to Debut New Show for YouTube’s Bear Witness Take Action 3, Hosted by Common & Keke Palmer

Asia Jackson is featured in Bear Witness, Take Action 3, a YouTube Originals series hosted by Keke Palmer and Common that highlights Black creators exploring issues of race, culture, and identity. As part of this powerful lineup, Asia premieres her original short film Tracing The Trend, a nuanced exploration of cultural appropriation and hip hop’s global influence—particularly among Asian youth.
Produced by Hoorae Media (founded by Issa Rae) and Fly On The Wall, this third installment features six short films from creators including Jacques Slade, The Grapevine, and Justin James. Each piece is followed by in-depth conversations with the hosts, unpacking the stories, creative intentions, and cultural stakes behind the work.
Asia’s film offers a thought-provoking look at the way hip hop culture transcends borders and how its adoption by Asian youth reveals both admiration and tension—raising urgent questions about respect, ownership, and identity in a hyperconnected world.
Part of the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund, Bear Witness, Take Action reflects Asia’s ongoing commitment to meaningful storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices and sparks dialogue. The shorts aired from December 6–8 and are available across each creator’s YouTube channel, with Q&A sessions hosted on YouTube Originals.
